Projects 2015

1. Trauma Healing – depression

The rate of mental disease increased dramatically in the last 10 years according to the statistics based on reserch. This increase is determined by the severe economical situation and the inversion of the values in the society which lead to a lack of meaning and identity at a personal and social level. Depression is one of the most common illness among all range of ages. In Romania is lacking a theological perspective within psychotherapy. The priests works with the patientes separately from the psychologist. Our Bible Society is the bridge that connects these two perspectives. Help the mental disordered patients to recover and fulfil their potential in relationship with the others and reintegrate in the society.

2. Trauma Healing – addictions and neurosis

We will organize 8 seminars monthly at Sf. Stelian Psychiatric Hospital in Bucharest and Neurosis Hospital in Predeal, which is 150 km far from Bucharest. In the seminars will participate the psychologists of the hospital, staff of IBSR and 10 patients and a priest. The group therapy will include persons with addictions (especially drug addiction) and neurosis. We will run also  a reserch to investigate the rality and find out how the psychologist and theological perspective interact and could help the patients to desire a process of transformation. Investigate the reality of the mental disordered patients. Group therapy focused on a personal development at the intersection between psychology/existential analysis and the Bible model of healing. Help the mental disordered patients to recover and fulfil their potential in relationship with the others and reintegrate in the society.

3. I am the Way, the Truth and Life – Awakening God’s Word

Following the development of the “No law, no bargain” project, we have got a new perspective of high school students. We have participated in many classes, having deep interaction with the students and teachers. One of our deep and meaningful conclusion is that students do not find their place in “their life” (family, school, society, in relationship with God). This lack of sense, expressed profoundly by them, will become the trigger to search their personal path and grow by multiplying their talents.

Having a psychological background, we started by investigating this lack of sense which gave birth of a new story that continually surprises us: through a psychological perspective we didn’t talk to them directly about God but we made them to feel the need of God. We linked directly this need to their personal skills (talents).

This perspective put us in relationship and created in us as well the desire to help them to find their place in the world, to discover more about themselves and in relationship with God. To put high school students in relationship with God: to discover and multiply their talents. This way we will spread the message of God in a very concrete way, becoming the key for life.

4. “No law, no bargain!” God’s law, as spiritual guidance for

the young generation in Romania

To put high school students in relationship with God: to discover and multiply their talents. This way we will spread the message of God in a very concrete way, becoming the key for life. The project aims to bond the social reality with the spiritual reality, giving the Bible the first place, as a link between the social disorder and the balance of faith.  Teach students about the criminal Law and God’s law. Teach them to behave as good citizens and as good Christians.

5. Flowers of spring

The experience of distributing children materials in the last 12 years led us to the understanding that each children becomes himself a person who gives (in the latest distributions, most of the packages were signed personally by children with their names and sometimes with a message like “I hope my gift will make you happy! Diana”). Children become direct co – participant and the distribution event transmit a lot of affection that is very touching. The poor and sad child suddenly wakes up and wants more from life. This attitude is visible on the children’s faces.

Help children and youth in Romania (both Romanian and Hungarian) to engage with virtues and values from the Bible.

6. Cornilescu translation revision

This translation was published by BFBS in 1924. This text is in use till today. The translator, Dumitru Cornilescu, died in 1975.

Because this translation was not protected in Romania, according to the Romanian copyright law, our main competitors took our BS to the court in 2012. There are 5 court cases.

In order to defend the text and protect it, a revision is required. This is not the only reason for the revision but also to update it after 90 years since it was launched.
